This will probably not be the last article of this series, and certainly not be the last thing to say on the topic of binding and loosing. If you are an ardent student of scripture, you will know that all Biblical topics are inter-connected and it’s easy to cross over into other topics and jump from one to another. It takes a significant amount of discipline to stay on point when highlighting one particular truth.
Much is also determined by the type of teaching style applied. In my case my process of preparation, is the collecting of my knowledge on a topic. I backtrack main points I learned over the years. I pray about it a lot and recognize where the Lord gives me greater insight. Truth I learned a long time ago become fresh and the Lord begins to unfold and reveal deeper dimensions of the same truth. He leads me to read certain books, have specific experiences, and circumstances that help open my eyes to ideas and concepts I may have never understood before. Then I begin writing. Now whether it be in writing or when I speak in meetings or with individuals, I tend to codify in words the concepts I visually comprehend. As I share, I then go into nested loops. For example, I will suddenly tell a story, or talk about something completely different, and only I know how it is connected to the main topic. I can even go into several nested loops at the same time. Then, suddenly I tie it all together and it all makes sense. Well, I hope it then makes sense to you to.
This last article is a crucial part of our study on the topic. If you allow me, I am possibly going to completely challenge your idea on prayer and intercession. However, this may possibly be the most important thing ever to learn about intercessory prayer. Intercession or intercessory prayer is the act of praying to God for yourself or more likely on behalf of others. The Apostle Paul’s exhortation to Timothy specified that intercession prayers should be made for all people.

1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
I’m sure that most Christians have a concept of the devil operating as the accuser of the bredren.
Revelation 12: 10-11 King James Version
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
What is much less understood is that these terminologies such as “the accuser of the bredren” are legal terms. Phrases and terms like this fall within the scope of the Court room scenario.

1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Meaning of the word Advocate, from the Greek word Parakletos is: An intercessor. One who pleads the cause of another before a tribunal or judicial court. An advocate is a professional in the field of law. Different countries’ legal systems use the term with somewhat differing meanings. The broad equivalent in many English law–based jurisdictions could be a barrister or a solicitor.
Romans 8: 34 King James Version
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
So, we see Jesus as our advocate, who makes intercession for us. There is more though. Even the Holy Spirit intercedes for us.
Romans 8: 26-27 King James Version
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
The terminology and phrases such as intercession, intercessor, and advocate, are undeniably legal titles, phrases, and designations. In the previous articles I explained that Heaven has many kinds of courts, with a heavenly judiciary, but that it in no way is congruent with our Earthly judiciaries, which are predominantly based on (1) Roman Civil Law, (2) Divine Right of Kings, where currently (3) Common Law or divine-natural law is often by-passed or ignored.
Meaning of the word “Constitution”: a body of fundamental principles or established precedents by which an organization, corporation, state or Kingdom (in this case the Kingdom of God) is acknowledged to be governed.
Perhaps we can see the scriptural relevance of a heavenly court system with God the Ancient of Days (Daniel 7: 9 and 13), as the judge or adjudicator of a legal trial, Satan as the prosecution, and man as the defendant. (Job 1) However, where we got it wrong so many times is that we assumed that just because Satan is named the accuser, and takes on the role of the prosecution, we have historically presupposed that we always take the role of the defendant charged with an offence(s).
The prosecution is also the plaintiff. A plaintiff is the party who initiates a lawsuit before a court. By doing so, the plaintiff seeks a legal remedy. If this search is successful, the court will issue judgment in favour of the plaintiff and issue sentence or make the appropriate court order.
Courts here on Earth, specifically those of Anglo-American heritage have specific protocols and etiquette. I was not much very familiar with them until linked to my job I became a court presenter applying for civil orders. (Due to professional obligations, I am not at liberty to discuss my work) The experience in this function has really opened my eyes to the dynamics of the Court Stage.
I explicitly use the word Stage to describe what a court is. A Court is a stage upon which the sovereign conducts his show to satisfy the rest of the world that his decision is a good one. That’s the practical definition. The legal definition is: The person and suit of the sovereign.
A refresher to the meaning of the word “Sovereign”: The person or body having independent and supreme authority. Websters New International Dictionary.
In other words, a sovereign is not accountable to higher authority.
As explained in Article 111) Binding and Loosing – Part 8 – Recover your Sovereignty, you, me, we the people are sovereign.
A very powerful and seemingly forgotten truth is for example the Preamble of the Constitution for the United States of America acknowledges the people as the creators of the United States of America. Therefore, a “people” is “sovereign”.
PREAMBLE. “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, ensure domestic Tranquillity, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
There is nothing in the Constitution that authorizes the created entity to commandeer its creator. There is no higher authority than “we the people” the sovereign.
America inherited three systems of law: (1) Roman Civil Law [Corpus Juris Civilis], (2) Divine Right of Kings, and (3) Common Law. My reference to the Constitution of the United States of America is relevant in as much as it relates closely to all Anglo-American systems of law everywhere in the world.
As one of the people you were born with all natural rights. These are inalienable rights. This is Universal not just limited to the Untied States of America.
The divine right of Kings
The Divine Right of Kings dates to the time in Britain after the Romans, when the Barbarians introduced this system of law. The king was the first visible source of God’s law. Power flowed from the king. It was not possible for the king to break the law. If the king acted contrary to the law, it just meant that for that moment the king changed the law. You are entitled to all the rights which formerly belonged to the King by his prerogative (so long as you do not encroach on the sovereignty of another). You are outside and above the Constitution.
The Vikings brought to England the concept that power flowed from the people to the king. The king became subject to a jury of Vikings.
It is true that much of the system of law has been hijacked by creating and integrating a satanic top-down hierarchical structure based on Statute/Civil law with it’s UCC and CISG i.e. Roman Civil Law, and Maritime/Admiralty, i.e. Trust-Contract-Equity Law. But true justice is based on divine law and has its origin in heaven. Though common law may also be titled as divine law, because it preserves and protects man’s sovereignty, Heaven’s system of law now according to the New Covenant of Peace even supersedes common law at times. This is because common law always seeks remedy where offences are comitted. The New Covenant of Peace provides forgiveness in the place of penalty or even remedy.
It should be clear and common knowledge that there is no higher authority than God, which makes Him sovereign. The amazing truth the Gospel reveals to us is that God crowned us with the His glory and honour and thus to be His appointed Sovereigns by being in Christ.
God made us all Kings and Priests!
Revelation 1:6 King James Version
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
If someone wants to submit a lawsuit, they become the plaintiff, or prosecutor if they represent themselves. Whoever is the plaintiff or prosecution they are functioning from their sovereignty. The sovereign i.e. king can set up their own court. They own the court. It’s their court. A judge in that situation becomes the adjudicator. An adjudicator is someone, typically of rank or a legal professional, who presides, arbitrates, and ultimately judges over a formal dispute. As a term, adjudicator in essence, means to “judge”, without invoking the legal term of judge. An example of an adjudicator is an individual who offers a preliminary ruling or judgment to resolve a legal dispute.
Now let’s transpose that situation to a court in Heaven.
Have you noticed we have a problem here? The sovereign has dominion and authority to set up court. If the rules as referred to above apply in a court in heaven, then that would mean that Satan representing the prosecution by virtue of being the accuser would then have to be sovereign to.
Is Satan sovereign? Is he a king? Does he have authority or dominion. He has neither. Some Christians like to acknowledge him as the king of hell. But we discussed that in previous articles. He is not the king of anything. Someone might say “did not Satan say to Jesus that all the kingdoms of the world were given him?” Yes, he did. But remember Satan is a liar. He cannot speak the truth. Those kingdoms were given him by man who used their sovereignty to contract with Satan to allow him entrance and influence into those kingdoms. How, can that be? The people of these kingdoms are not necessarily all out and out Satanists. Although there are those to and know exactly what they are doing. Mostly it is people like you and me. We have all allowed ourselves to be deceived to some degree or another. We have all been partakers of the world’s systems, in the realm of finances, with trading, lending a borrowing. And though we for the most part have acted in good faith with integrity, we have made uses of mammon of unrighteousness (Luke 16:9) knowing that the system at its core is corrupt.
Matthew 4: 8-9 King James Version
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
The other important factor is that ALL authority comes from God. God has not delegated any authority to Satan. He has none.
The fact is Satan lost his position of authority when he was cast out of heaven. This event took place before Adam and Eve. Ever since then Satan had to deceive mankind into contracting with him, by which Satan then expropriated man’s sovereignty and dominion to give him influence.
Over the thousands of years Satan managed to use this deception to influence man to develop systems of law, not excluding trade, and finances, food and medical industry, education, government, and military providing him the illusion of control. Remember that this could only work by man’s willingness to consent to his deals and contracts. Man used his sovereignty and dominion to provide Satan with this opportunity.
The same things is true in the heavenly court scenario. As you read the book Job, it is important to know that Job lived before Abraham. Job offers sacrifices for himself and his family. There is no tabernacle or temple, no priesthood, and no mention of the covenant with Abraham in the book of Job. This leads many Theologians to believe that the book of Job was probably the oldest book of the Bible written, even before the five books of Moses were written. Internal Biblical evidence may point out that Job really lived after the sons of Jacob died and before Moses.
Job 1: 6-7 King James Version
6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. 7 And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
It becomes clear that Satan appeared before God to accuse Job in the next verses. Yet, notice the question the Lord put to Satan. “Whence comest thou?” Shall I rephrase that in slang? What are you doing here? In other words Satan was not supposed to be there. He was not allowed audience before God. He had been cast out remember.
There are different courts here on earth. Here in the UK, different types of cases are dealt with in specific courts: for example, all criminal cases will start in the magistrates’ court, but the more serious criminal matters are committed (or sent) to the Crown Court. Appeals from the Crown Court will go to the High Court, and potentially to the Court of Appeal or even the Supreme Court. When I have to make Court presentations, I am authorised to have audience in a Magistrates Court, but never in a Crown Court. Back to the point. Satan has no authority to have any audience with God in any court. God did not delegate any authority to Satan to anything. He was cast out into outer darkness. Satan was never given authority to influence man on this earth. Man gave him opportunity. If Satan has no authority to influence man on earth, he also has no authority to enter heaven and make accusations against man before God.
However, there is one way Satan manages to stand before God as a prosecutor and make accusations. It is by man’s sovereignty and dominion that Satan is given this opportunity. Let me explain.
In the case of Job, he feared retribution by Judgment from God for the sins of his sons.
Job 3: 25 King James Version
25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
That word fear from the Hebrew means; to be in great dread. This seems to indicate that even though Job sacrificed unto the Lord to keep judgment at bay, his fear was greater than his faith. Fear is a type of hope in the reverse. Where hope is an expectation of good things to come, fear is an expectation of judgment. When sins are comitted, unless you are well established in your righteousness by Christ, fear is followed by the perception that you deserve to be punished.
This type of guilty conscience gave way to the expectation that Job deserved to be accused of committing sin, or his family of committing sin. Job used his sovereign dominion to open the door for Satan into heaven’s court. God may have asked him what he was doing there, but he had to honour Job’s authority to let him in. You see God does operate on the grounds of law and legal principles. What is crucially important to us is that we recognise which system of law God operates by. Well, it is the New Covenant Contract. God does not deal with us based on the legal grounds on any of the five Old Testament Covenants, even though they all find their fulfilment in the New Covenant.
Job may not have been aware of a devil making accusations against him before God, but he was aware of the rite of sacrifice to appeal to God for mercy and keep judgment at bay. This tradition was passed on orally even since Adam and later by Noah. Thus, it is likely that Job operated under the Adamic and Noahic Covenant. The book of Job reveals that Job did not initially have a revelation of the existence of Satan, but he attributed his calamities to the judgments of God.
We are to operate by a completed revelation of the New Covenant and our right standing with God in Christ.
If we naturally assume that because of our actions and associated sense of guilt we deserve to be punished, and therefore there must be the corresponding accusation from Satan against us, we are using our sovereignty and authority in Christ to give Satan opportunity to do just that.
Let’s look at the court scenario again. When the sovereign set up court, and the plaintiff or prosecution presents their case, the defendant cannot make any demands other than to answer with their defence. However, this changes completely when the defendant makes a counter claim. Now the defendant also becomes the plaintiff. Now the defendant is taking hold of their sovereignty as king.
In an earthly court, your admission to offences will be acknowledged as proof of guilt, followed by sentencing and penalty or remedy.
It would behove you to really get to grips with the seriousness of admitting your wrong in heaven’s court. If Satan accuses you of any wrongdoing, you will do well, to avoid arguing about it. You know when you had part in something. Even if it seems only remotely true, make sure that you avoid trying to come up with excuses. Admit your offences immediately! This is not a debate between you and Satan. He addresses the bench with his accusations. You address the bench with your admissions.
Now here comes the kicker.
After your guilty plea, state that you appeal upon the finished work of Jesus, upon the blood of Jesus. Yes, O Ancient of Days, my Father I admit I did all these things, and I deserve all the corresponding consequences, but….the blood of Jesus. I plead upon the blood of Jesus, by which I was forgiven, and made righteous. I do not stand here in my capacity, but in the capacity of Jesus Christ my advocate and intercessor. Christ Jesus is my righteousness, my sanctification and redemption, O Lord. Then watch what happens. The Judge of the universe, the adjudicator of heaven’s court agrees, and you are declared righteous, and free.
Now turn the stakes. Now you are no longer the defendant. State that you are now making a counter claim and are setting up court. Remember court is a stage. At that point you are reclaiming your sovereignty back. You are now king. You are now taking hold of your authority in Christ. You are now the plaintiff, the prosecution. What is your case?
O Ancient of Days, who is this imposter, who is called the accuser of the bredren? What is he doing here? He has no right of being here. He has no authority or right to accuse me before you. He has conducted illegal operations against me to try a hinder me from fulfilling my destiny and the calling you placed upon my life. If I made compromises in my life and thereby consenting to any of his deceptive deals to contract with him, I am hereby withdrawing my consent. If I made compromises in my lifestyle for the pay off with certain privileges which were part of Satan’s contract, then I ask for your Grace Father to show me where I established those contracts and made those compromises. I ask Father that you show me what I can do to undo those compromises. I also declare that I was not given full disclosure of the terms and conditions of these contracts offered by Satan, therefore they are nullified.
Now, you make your declaration as King and decree in your court that Satan is not allowed to make accusations against you in heaven’s court before God. Decree that Satan is not allowed to launch attacks against you on earth to try and work against you in your efforts to live a happy and fulfilled life. Decree that all of Satan’s attacks must cease immediately.
Decree that heaven’s holy angelic hosts, equipped and appointed to be deployed on your behalf to go forth and keep the spiritual forces of darkness subdued and restrained to no longer be able to attack you or work against you.
We have the keys
Keys are a way to open and close the locks of doors. Whoever holds the keys has the power to lock up or open. Whoever holds the keys can enter the building, in this case can enter the Kingdom of God. Whoever holds the keys can enter Heaven’s court.
Matthew 16: 19 King James Version
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Please refer to Article 111) Binding and Loosing – Part 8 – Recover your Sovereignty, to read more about the binding and loosing from Rob Bell’s book Velvet Elvis. Bell stated in his book that in Matthew 16:19 Christ was giving his followers the authority to make new interpretations of the Bible. He is giving them permission to say, “Hey, we think we missed it before on that verse, and we’ve recently come to the conclusion that this is what it actually means.” And not only is he giving them authority, but he is saying that when they do debate and discuss and pray and wrestle and then make decisions about the Bible, somehow God in heaven will be involved.
I say Bell is still missing the ultimate message here. The elders and religious leaders of the Hebrews could interpret the Torah or rather the meaning of the Laws of Moses. They had the authority and responsibility to do this for the benefit of the people. The High Priest and all the other Priests were the links between the people and the Most Holy Place where the Shekinah Presence of God would abide. Thus, their interpretations of the Torah were to be conducted with the principle in mind that this was linked to the innermost sanctuary of the Temple, which represented heaven. This is how they should allow or forbid certain things by their interpretations of the Law of Moses.
However, they were infiltrated by those who used their position to create interpretations which had the effect of bringing the people under a heavy burden and yoke that controlled them. Jesus came and with His teaching he undid the heavy burden and by teaching the true interpretation of the Torah He set people free.
Binding and loosing was about interpretations of the Law. It was a legal matter to be settled from the affirmation of the most holy place in the Temple, which was then functioning as the court room of heaven. In the New Covenant we enter the most holy place in heaven. Where Heaven’s courts are conducted. How do we do this whilst we still live her on earth? By faith.
Begin your prayer and close your eyes if it helps you. Imagine by faith you enter heaven’s courtroom. Remember, you are in Christ and He represents you before the Father. (I will soon begin to publish prayers, both written and audio recordings, which can be used as tool to help develop this kind of intercession)
When you state your case as a sovereign king (being in the Christ the King of all Kings) you now have the power to bind and to loose. Once the case is settled and a court ruling has been made the decree or court order is a ruling that will either bind or loose.
A better translation of “whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven”, is “whatsoever thou shalt forbid on earth must be what is already forbidden in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt allow on earth must be what is already allowed in heaven”.

19 and I will give to thee the keys of the reign of the heavens, and whatever thou mayest bind upon the earth shall be having been bound in the heavens, and whatever thou mayest loose upon the earth shall be having been loosed in the heavens.’
Some people who teach this powerful truth of pleading your case in heaven’s court do a great job. However, many present this truth from the paradigm that you must seek a just court ruling from God the Ancient of Days, the Father who acts as the judge. Now this is a tricky one, especially since many people are still struggling with old religious ideas. Nevertheless, Jesus said that He gave us the keys. We are to judge righteously over a case in heaven’s court proceedings on the basis of the New Covenant of Peace with the one commandment that makes up our constitution: that you love one another as I have loved you (John 13:34).
We can present personal cases in Heaven’s court. Intercession like this can be made for family, loved ones, friends, work colleagues, and then really anyone, and anything.
When we apply this truth in our intercessory prayer for our world and all that is going on today, make sure that you NEVER, rebuke or bind spiritual forces of darkness over situations, before first taking your case into heaven’s court and settle a court ruling, which forbids the forces of darkness their influence in that situation. Then once that’s settled, should the satanic and demonic activity persist, if you are sure of your court ruling, then command your decree on the earth’s battlefield for the forces of darkness to be bound. They were forbidden in Heaven; therefore, you can now legally forbid their influence here on earth.
We are operating from a tremendous position of Victory. We are not currently trying to get the Victory over Satan and forces of darkness. Christ obtained the Victory and laid claim to it. When we enter Heaven’s court we settle the fact that Satan is a liar, he has no right to accuse us in heaven, he has no right to influence us through other people, or any channel. He is outside the divine contract of the New Covenant of Peace, he is outside the scope of reign of the Kingdom of God, he outside the New Heaven and Earth and he is cast outside the city walls of the New Jerusalem in heaven and on earth. Christ obtained a mighty Victory for us. Let’s take our world back from the influence of Satan, here where we reign as Kings (and Queens) with Christ.
